There’s always been the need to ensure that every child has access to the care and support they need to live a full life. 

I know that you care about reducing the suffering of and giving hope to the world’s vulnerable children.

Even though we’ve made great progress, there are some new challenges getting in the way. As inflation reaches the double digits in South Africa, the poorest families struggle with finding enough money to manage their basic needs, much less to regularly access the rehabilitation services that are available to support them.

Here’s what we’re doing to tackle these challenges. We educate the community about the range of scientifically-based explanations for disability, and that many disabilities can be supported and mitigated 
with access to support. We educate families about services available, 
refer and provide assistance to families to access the special needs services available. We assist with transport money to access services or transport them up with our vehicles to the services. We provide weekly care at their homes to support and encourage them to do their exercises, and continue to attend their appointments.
