"I used to think that I couldn't have dreams for my life because I'm HIV positive.
But now I see that I have hope and a future and that I'm not alone."

"Thembalethu is my hope, and I am so glad that I know them because what they are teaching us is so helpful to me. Even if I miss taking my treatment, the moment I think about Thembalethu's camp activities I get back on track and take them."

Learn about our work with children and families
When Thembalethu came into my life, I had lost hope. My son had had a stroke, he wasn't able to do anything for himself, he was entirely bedbound. Thembalethu's interventions made such a difference in our lives. We were introduced to physio and speech therapists who helped him with exercises which made a huge difference in his life. I’m thankful to God who has helped me to be brave for my son. He is now much better than before. He can now bathe himself, move his legs and able to turn when lying down without asking for assistance. Thanks to God and Thembalethu Care Organisation."

"Going to Thembalethu’s Parenting Skills camp has opened my mind about teaching my family how to live life. We also learned about HIV/AIDS and teenage pregnancy.  Thembalethu has taught us a lot and has opened our minds, as we are parents who are have been hurt spiritually and emotionally but being at the camp has helped us to cope and be able to build a healthy, happy home."
